Main Page
From BMX-U
Welcome to BMX-U.com, a Wiki for all types of BMX information.
Basically this is how BMX-U.com works. ANYONE can add a page, ANYONE can edit a page. Get started by signing up for an account.
For more detailed info about how a Wiki works check out this page: User's Guide
If there are pages you would like to monitor or moderate you can "Watch" those pages with the watch tab and get emails when major edits are made.
Admins are here to help keep things running in the background but the BMX-U content and the accuracy of that content comes from the contributions of every user.
Click the edit tab to add to a page or to correct a mistake. If you search for a page and can't find anything feel free to start a new page.
How To Post
Start a new page by searching for the title of the subject you want to add. If the page doesn't already exist you will see a link that says "There is no page titled "?????". You can create this page." Click the "You can create this page." link to get started.
Edit an existing page by clicking the "edit" tab at the top of the page. You will see this tab on nearly every page of this site.
Add a link to a page by wrapping the URL and the text you want to link in square brackets. This [http://www.bikeguide.org Bike Guide] will make a link that looks like this: Bike Guide
When editing there is a shortcut button for adding links. It looks like this:
Upload an image to the site with the Upload file page. Use the "Browse" button to find the image on your computer's hard drive, use the other fields to add a caption if you want and then press the "Upload" button. Please don't upload copyrighted images without permission.
There is a shortcut to the Upload file page in the toolbox menu.
Add an image to a page with a pair of square brackets and the word "file". Add a colon and then the filename of the image you uploaded using the previous step. Your code should look like this: [[file:Example.jpg]] but with the filename "Example.jpg" replaced with the name of your image.
When editing there is a shortcut button for adding images. It looks like this:
Add a YouTube video by using the YouTube tag. First find the code for the video you want to post from the URL on the YouTube page (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUHkWz1Vf_A). Then put that code into the YouTube tag where you want your video to appear like this: <youtube v="bUHkWz1Vf_A" />
Add a Vimeo video by using the Vimeo tag. First find the code for the video you want to post from the URL on the Vimeo page (http://www.vimeo.com/956961). Then put that code into the Vimeo tag where you want your video to appear like this: <vimeo id="956961" />
